The deal, in plain English.

These are the terms for working with Consult Ants. "We" means Consult Ants. "You" means the business that signs up. By signing up, you agree to what's on this page.

What you get

• Setup, $299 one time. We design and build your website, and register your domain for you.
• The Nest plan, $20 a month. Changes to your site by email, hosting, and a short report every month.
• The Colony plan. Not available yet. When it opens, its terms will be added here.

Small changes are usually live the same business day. Bigger ones, like a whole new page, take a few days, and we tell you before we start. A full redesign is a new project, and we give you a price first.

What's yours

Once the setup fee is paid, your website is yours: the code, the words, and the photos. So is your domain. We register it and look after it for you, and if you leave we hand it over.

When you send us text, photos, or a logo, you're telling us you have the right to use them.

How we work

We use AI tools for drafting and routine work. A person checks the result before it goes live. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.

Paying

• The setup fee is due before we start building.
• The Nest plan starts the day your site goes live. It's charged to your card once a month, in advance, until you cancel.
• Card payments are handled by a payment company. We never see or store your card number.
• Prices don't include sales tax. If we have to charge it, you'll see it before you pay.
• If a payment fails, we email you and try again. If it's still unpaid after 14 days, your plan ends, and the "If you leave" section below applies.
• If our prices change, we email you at least 30 days ahead. You can cancel before the new price starts.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time by emailing us. There's no notice period and no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops the next charge. Your plan keeps running until the end of the month you've already paid for, and we don't refund part of a month.

Refunds

• Setup fee. Change your mind before we start building and you get all of it back. Once we've started, it isn't refundable.
• Monthly plan. A month that's been charged isn't refunded. If we charged you by mistake, we refund the mistake.

If you leave

• We send you your website's files. That's free.
• We transfer your domain to you. That's free too.
• We keep your site online for 30 days after your plan ends, so you have time to move it.
• Want us to move it to a new home for you? We can, for a flat fee we tell you before we start. It's optional.

What we won't do

We don't build or host anything illegal, hateful, or meant to deceive people, or anything that uses someone else's work without permission. If we find that on a site we host, we'll ask you to remove it. If it stays, we can take it down and end your plan.

What we can't promise

We work hard to keep your site online and correct, but we can't promise it will never go down or never have a mistake. We also can't promise a certain number of visitors or sales.

If something goes wrong because of us, the most we owe you is what you paid us in the 12 months before it happened. We aren't responsible for knock-on losses like lost sales. Both limits apply as far as the law allows.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we email you at least 30 days before the change.
